Depression is a most uncomfortable and profoundly dibilitating illness.

There are various treatments recommended by professionals. There are also different causes given for depression. It could be brought on by a traumatic life event. There are also people who have suffered several episodes of depression throughout their lives. One of the most frequently recommended treatments is talking therapies (Counselling and Psychotherapy). This may be combined with other approaches. e.g. medication.

An episode of depression may be used as an opportunity to explore your life scenario and your way of 'being' in the world. In therapy you may gain insight into the way you cope or deal with situations which might have caused you distress. You may make choices and bring about changes in your life.

As a therapist I remain alongside you while you review your life. I do not make choices and decisions for you. Counselling and Psychotherapy will provide a safe and confidential environment in which to talk and be listened to in the threapeutic setting.

The healing power of therapy resides in the therapeutic relationship which is a constant source of support and an ally.
